Hi again, this subject is touched in other posts but I want more concrete answers.

1. Is Rybka for PocketPC gonna be an free engine to Pocket Champion? Or extra seperate paid...'
2. Are you closing in on the release of it?
3. Is the hash-usage of Rybka making trouble ( I heard that you call Rybka an Hash using engine, when Fritz and others from CB is not really hash-using heavily), that would suggest that Rybka on PocketPC would like a lot of Hash, just like on PC... ?

1. Separate, I'm quite sure.
2. Yes, it's very close.
3. Rybka is a bit bigger than other engines but that wasn't an issue with the PocketPC. The main issue is that there are no 64-bit Pocket PCs yet :)

Just to let you know that I have just gotten Pocket Champion and have tested the Delfi 4.5 engine and conclude that is is weaker than PocketFritz 2 and PocketGrandmaster 3.0.But this was not so much of a dissapointment.The biggest dissapiontment is the interface and the many bugs it has.Many times you go to set up a position and try to get engine to analyze and an error message comes up and shuts down the program.Also the analisis only gives the first 6 ply of main line even when you choose to use the small chess board screen it just repeats the first 6 ply on 3 seperate lines?!Also there are errors in the notation that is used in the analysis line and whenever a pawn capture is displayed in the main line it is shown as 0-0xf4 depending on what square is being occupied.Also there is no ability to change the appearence of the borad and pieces such as colours and styles.Another function that is missing is the one tap imput that PF2 and PGM use as it is such a great function which is simple to program.Also there is no adjustment of hash or any mention of hash for this engine.
And why do you need a 64 bit PPC as you have programmed Rybka for 32 bit PC.If the program is too big can't you break it up in to two somehow.If I remember correctly this is what Mark Uniack did with Hiarcs when he found his Hiarcs was too big for the Palm system and it worked.I don't know how exactly he did it but I do remember reading in Selctive Search magazine that this is what he did.
Hope that when Rybka does make to PPC these bugs are corrected because as it stands at the moment give me the PF2 or PGM interface anyday.

Vas mentioned 64bit for one reason only .... Rybka on a 64bit platform would gain almost 60% in speed .... thus offering power on PPC platform that was never thought possible on the same hardware.  A 64bit PPC Rybka would probably play at around 2700 to 2800 ELO ... due to Rybka being bit board based program it gains A LOT from a 64bit compile.

Thanks for the info, I'll make sure the interface is acceptable before release.

I already did shrink Rybka down a little bit. There are some differences which result from this, but these are not major.

Re. 64 bits - this is just for speed.
