Congratulations to everyone who hasn’t bought Chessbase 16! Anyone know where to get support? Not from Chessbase anyway.
Now I don’t get tablebases to work, neither Nalimov nor Syzygy. Is there a solution?

I have an old Chessbase, but I think they look similar.
Show what you have in file/options/tablebases.

I have Fritz 12, Fritz 17, Chessbase 12 and Chessbase 16 and do the same in all but it is only in Chessbase 16 that it doesn’t work. I have the path to Nalimov (GUI) but not checked to load it. I have also filled in the paths to the Syzygy files, both under GUI and engine and marked "load" under GUI.
Other times it is the other way around, ie a function works in Chessbase 16 but not in the other programs, for example "alternative annotation language". I'm wondering if it could be errors because of so many similar programs installed simultaneously. For example, in the installation Fritz 17 deleted all my engines, maybe 50.
Do you have any idea?

Ensure you enetered good tablebases settings, then apply them and restart Chessbase to make changes. Maybe you tried different settings without restart and that's why you didn't see tablebaes working.
If I change the settings in one Chessbase program it automatically changes for all Chessbase programs. So I have the same settings in all programs and only in Chessbase 16 it don’t work. And yes, I have restarted many times.
Maybe I need to uninstall everything and only reinstall the newest software. These programs seems to be interlinked and makes unwanted tricks together.
Or do you have smarter ideas?

I don't know. I didn't have 2 Chessbases at the same time.
I thought that Chessbases, Fritz and other programs from Chessbase share only documents, bases etc, but not settings.

Shared settings was a surprise for me too. Some settings are shared and I guess that the programmers has lost control of which. I like the nice looking and smooth moving 2d-pieces and the high quality databases. Otherwhise Chessbase sucks more and more. So much shit to turn off. Do you know how to always turn off all commentary? I can delete commentary afterwards but not stop that the commentary gets created. I have unmarked ”Store thinking time”, ”Store evaluations” and ”Store expected move” but the program ignores that.
What kind of commentary? I add it when I want. I don't know what you are talking about. Nothing is created by program itself.
Say an engine match in Fritz. In the notation I read ”Nf6 Both last book move 8.Be3 0.34/21 1.5 Be7 0.33/25”. I want it clean, ”Nf6 8.Be3 Be7”, nothing more, but I can’t prevent it. Do you know how?
Right click on CBH or PGN and choose unannotate DB. Is it what you need?
No, I want the comments to never be created but I can’t prevent it. When I look at an ongoing game I might be interested in the opening moves or the last played moves. Then it’s so irritating to se that extra shit information. Like 0.34/21 1.5 reading 0.33/25 2.3 this 0.33/25 0.8 text 0.28/24 1.6 . Not very fun.
