I appreciate your assistance. Here are a few questions:
1) Is it true that only a Polyglot (.bin) opening book, and not .ctg book) can be used by Komodo in Aquarium?

2) If so, can you recommend a source for free Polyglot books to be used by Komodo/Aquarium?
The only one I have seen in "komodo.bin" from the Komodo engine download page?

Hello Darmar,

I need a super strong bin book for the 2016 Tenth Annual World Computer Rapid Chess Championship coming up Saturday July 16th and July 17th, 2016. I have effectively teamed up with Daniel José Queraltó and his engine Andscacs - the Great Beast from the Giant Mountain. Do you have an updated bin book of outstanding current theory and literature, and that has been finely tuned with engines such as Stockfish and Komodo?! If so I do not mind paying you some money for a copy of that book, if at all possible. I see that you had posted a link to your book not too long ago, but the website is failing to work for me. Please let me know if you can help me; I can certainly use your help and assistance with some good opening material.

Yours sincerely,

Adam Kostas

GOOD .bin SOURCE (and .abk, .ctg)

International Gsei Web Opening Book Tournament

Click on a book name in the 'Crosstable' or 'Book ratings' tabs.

Most are free with a working link to download.

(Some are old, but 'nowadays' books tend to be private, or only on private forums, or are commercial.)

I am using Rybka chess program, Houdini 6.02 engine, and have my own Opening Book for White in a pgn file and for Black in pgn file.
Can someone please help me customise the existing opening book (Rybka or Houdini Book) by merging my pgn files and going forward also to keep adding moves to the opening Books
Or is there a Graphical interface that does just that, saves moves to the opening book?
I am pretty sure any GM would love such an interface for their opening preparation rather than investing in chess programs and engines.

Thanks in advance!
