an information update about the 2 tourneys would be nice. How many games are still going on? Expected end of tourney? etc.

It could be years, Garvin likes to make things go sloooow.

Dear Scott,

I really am sick and tired of your negative bullshit and I wish you would just piss off and just let me alone. I have had a gutful of it. You are not even a participant in this event and still you come on here and take pot shots at me for stuff that I can not control. Uly and yourself ganged up in July and decided to launch an all out offensive against how I have ran this competition to the point where I decided, combined with other events in my life, that a hospital admission was the best course of events for me.

I have had enough of your shit and I just wish you would piss off and leave me alone.

In this round I did not choose for Uly to decide to spit the dummy, withdraw without notice, forfeit his game and then I decided to re-pair his game to allow Matt O'Brien and Erik Varend to have a game, rather than deny both of them a last round game. I can not control that their game is not showing up live because it was paired late, so they are having to show the moves themselves.

I was forewarned before the event began that Uly's entry was likely to cause me problems, but I decided to allow him to enter as I thought it was in the best interests of the event. Those predictions proved true and I should have gone with them.

That is the last game going in WBCCC 2015. All the other results are on display for both competitions. I have not delayed anything.

As for 2016, this year was only a stop gap year and I was intending to make a full promotion effort to promoting the event on a wider scale to boost the numbers. But consider the amount of hate I have been getting, and the lack of supporting comments in return to those hate comments, I have decided that this will be the last year for WBCCC, at least with me running it.

As soon as Matt O'Brien and Erik Varend have finished, I will be making a report to Dadi that this event be terminated. I have spent five years of my life saving this competition, from when a fraud ripped off the organisers, to what we have now, where my efforts are openly 'hated' and the numbers have been dropping away, so it is time for this competition to close.

Very sorry to read all this Garvin, you have done a wonderful job over the years as I see it.
I did not realise you were that upset and admit I am surprised at your language, you need a skin of a rhino in your job and to know when anyone is bothering you to just tell them to f..k off and then forget it.
Hope we can keep it touch on a personal level,i think very highly of you as a person.
best Paul.

Thanks for the Information, Garvin.
Those people attacking you permanently must have a terrible, dreadful life.
All the best for you in your future life, Garvin. Those tourneys were great!

I know it is weird to respond to a post over 200 days old. But as an original participant in this event, I want to say I appreciate what you did. I am impressed you did it for four more additional years. AND I am hoping you change your mind. I would love to see this event continue and to start to participate myself again. I would like to remind you of our discussion from 2011 when you came to pay me my prize for my performance in that event, I donated it to you because of your hardwork and the future hardwork I knew would await you. You need to learn to ignore people like Scott. He has always been a whiny bitch.

First of all, this was a harmless reply I sent, not an attack, geez. It was in reply to his long rant against a shorter time control I suggested. He has a history of crying the blues, before this site.

Just from having a difficult time in life and losing my wife and daughter at young ages.

Ok, after all these years I need to straighten this out. Of course I am not a heartless bastard, I am so sorry Paul. I know the pain of some of that as my wife & I lost our only child, a girl at a young age also so I do know how that feels. It never ends and makes a person jaded against the world. That's as far as I will go into that subject.

Now I need to set the record straight. First it would be nice to brush up on why I said what I said.

This is the background of this whole affair. Anybody who reads this would see that Garvin way overreacted to my little posts. All I wanted was a little faster time control so I could finish the games before I die. I don't know about tournament directors. They are a different bunch, on FICGS there was another named Daniel Parmet who was even more obstinate than Garvin. I've racked my small brain wondering why they always want to make the tours so slow, even the players, beyond me, that's why I didn't play. Maybe they need a lot of time to add 2 + 2 to see who playing who next round. IDK. I could see in the OLD days with snail mail the longer time controls, but not with the instant access of today. Obviously directing tours causes mental and personal problems. I admit dealing with chessplayers can be tough. So why do they do it? For the accolades? All the pats on the back etc. I wasn't stalking him or taking "pot shots", just taking an interest since I played in this event since the start. In fact, along with Jimmy, (who unfortunately ripped off Paul), I helped start this event. Anyway, water under the bridge.

I wonder why all the time people are trying to get into the United States of America. Now after over 30 years of CC I have concluded the rest of the world is nuts. No sense of humor, no guts. If it wasn't for the Beatles I can't think of anything else good that came out of England, Europe, Australia and on and on. I was going to add Nicole Kidman, but she was born in Hawaii like Obama was suppose to have been, (doubt that also). The news lately reaffirms that I was right to never have traveled abroad. I will stay home and stay away from CC to all's delight. TYVM.

This is why I hate the holiday's, everybody gets too emotional and says things they don't mean. Especially if alcohol is involved.

Odd that you mention me, given I was never a TD for a FICGS just a player. I have been a TD over the board but I have stepped away from that role because of assholes like you. One day, I hope you learn to show people respect. I am glad in your 30 years of correspondence chess that Garvin and I have stuck out so thoroughly in your mind.
