It was mentioned more chess knowledge. I suppose this refers mainly to where it occasionaly slips up to other near top programs. That would be good enough! Will it be this? and more?

It's interesting to see the (perhaps) greatest player of all time, Rybka, being critiscized for tactical "weakness", but atleast it shows there IS some more it can go. So I'm certainly looking forward to version 2.3 and versions 3.

After Rybka 2.3 is out (BTW - we've moved it back another week), I'm going to take a good look at everything, and prioritize things.

There is a nearly endless candidate list of things to do for Rybka 3.

if I recall correctly, you mentioned recently that for 2.3, you are sure that the search is different (from 2.2), but NOT sure if it is any stronger (than 2.2). Is this correct? Because if it is, that does not sound very comforting, at least to me. :-(
Namely, for such a complex and uniquely strong engine, to change something drasticaly without being sure of the improvement, is a big risk?

Yeah, it's a messy process, there is no question about that. Sometimes, I play a lot of games between intermediate versions and take smaller steps. This time, it wasn't really possible and I still haven't played any Rybka 2.3 vs Rybka 2.2 games. This is coming in a few days.
