I am using the Fritz 11 Interface and at depth 18 (18 min and counting) Rybka is reporting 0 k/N per second.  I am aware of the
low node count issues, but is something wrong with a
reported count of 0?

I am using single cpu version.

Thanks

Perhaps she loaded 17 depth from hash?
Otherwise, can you post position?

This makes sense as the engine she is playing made the move that was expected.

Thanks

After 20 minutes, it reported 20 k/N per second.

I have a quad core, and the multi-processor version of R3 does this as well. But I have noticed that for many seconds it will display 0 (or perhaps 1 kn/sec), then jump suddenly to a more reasonable node count. Other engines do this as well, especially Naum, which often only displays a node count just as it makes its move. It's obvious that these anomalies don't affect play, so I ignore them, assuming they are a GUI issue. I use the Fritz interface.

This typically means that Rybka takes all of her information so far from the hash table.

Either that or you seriously need to upgrade your hardware :)
