I set my hash to 1024.  I have a 4Gig Quad core (6700) CPU.  Is that too much hash, not enough, or just right?  (I have no clue what I'm doing with this games set up so please bare with me).

Thanks all,
Darrin

There is no bottom limit....just use as much hash as long as it doesn't slow down your system

It depends on what time control is used. For very quick games I would say, that 1 GB of hash is definitely too much. For infinite analyses it is reasonable to use as much of hash as possible without making your system to swap RAM pages. Memory swapping will occure if you assign too much RAM for hash. And this will slow your system down or even freeze it.

This is a good figure. 2048 is also good.
