Where are the information of this match? Conditions, etc....
I see only a Rybka-Meyer sticky topic that is outdated and refers to an older match.

Time limit was 30'+30". Prize money $200 for won match, $100 for drawn match. I used the default version in Game 1, the Dynamic version in Game 2, and the Human version in the last two games. So each version scored a win and no losses. Contempt was set at 100.

This Eugene Meyer truly is a man with a very long life http://www.chessgames.com/player/eugene_meyer.html :)

That's very funny! Actually Eugene Meyer has some real achievements in chess in the 1980s; he was over 2500 FIDE (enough for the GM title) and made two GM norms, but didn't play enough to get his final GM norm and the title. He also tied for the World Open championship back then.

And he beat the great Emmanuel Lasker! ;-)

Only in a simul! :-)
Parent - - By Felix Kling (Gold) Date 2008-08-10 16:15
now Rybka has beaten Lasker indirectly- it gives a Lasker number of 2 :)
Parent - - By Felix Kling (Gold) Date 2008-08-10 16:18
btw., Rybka's Kasparov number is 3- same for Vas, Larry and Iweta :)
Parent - - By Kappatoo (*****) Date 2008-08-10 16:23
I once barely missed a Kasparov number of 2, but my endgame technique once again proved too weak.
By the way, where can I find this site again?

http://ibeatgarry.com/

My Kasparov number is 4 after beating Vas in blitz :)

Thanks.
But still, that hardly counts. (Wait, why am I saying that? It would easily make my Kasparov number 2.)

Okay, you are right, congrats!

Edit: Just found out my 'real' Kasparov number is 3, via at least two ways.
Parent - - By Felix Kling (Gold) Date 2008-08-10 16:34
Since I'm not in the database I guess my Kasparov number then would be 5 or 6.  Difficult to look up all my opponents :)

Anyway, who cares "how" I beat Garry ;)
Parent - By Kappatoo (*****) Date 2008-08-10 16:36
Yes, obviously. You could try the strongest opponents you beat. But one of the ways that lead my to Kasparov is quite surprising - I surely woudln't have found out that way.

Parent - - By Martin Thoresen (***) Date 2008-08-09 19:32
Then I suggest you.... don't watch them. :)

You prefer to watch the human gets ground to dust in an even match? would you consider that more fun?

The handicap matches at least makes it somewhat difficult for the engine (although, as we have seen from this match, even that is not enough).

To me, anything that makes the fight hard, and not totally one sided, is more interesting.

watching a grandmaster like Dzindzichashvili destroyed 4-0 (or 3.5 - 0.5) instead of putting up a good fight (despite the loss) in the previous handicap match seems pointless to me.

Soon, we'll see if a handicap match against a 2700 rated player is still even.
If it is, then I prefer the handicap matches.
