Rybka Chess Community Forum
Hi everyone i am new to rybka forums. Ive been reading most of the posts but i can't find anything on setting up persistant hash. I am using fritz interface and i don't know how to set up a file somewhere in a directory for rybka to access and use as a persistant hash. Can someone point me in the right direction on creating a file to store your analysis and searches so rybka can access them again. Thank you everyone.

(scroll down to the Persistent Hash section).

Rybka creates the file, you just have to give her a valid path, for example C:\RybkaHash\Persistent.rph
thank you so much i got it to work :)

Every time I close FritzGUI and open it again it resets the engine parameters back to default. I have successfully set the persistent hash folder like you said "C:\RybkaHash\Persistent.rph " and that worked but when I restart the GUI and check the parameters the link to the file is gone and the feature is not selected. What is wrong?
Also where should or should I create "Preserve Analysis" and "Persistent hash merge File". I am not going to use Preserve AN right now but I would like to create a file somewhere for it so that one day if I do use it will be there
I have created the PH path as you have stated but I do not see it yet.Does it take some games to produce? The path is C:\RybkaHash\Persistent.rph
Created? You don't create anything, you just have to put the path in the "persistent hash file" parameter. Rybka should create the file (C:\RybkaHash\Persistent.rph) immediately after you enable persistent hash and enter the path.
And, seeing as people aren't getting that the path I'm giving is just an EXAMPLE, just make it "Persistent.rph", and Rybka will create it in the directory her executable resides in.
Most interfaces let you save parameter settings so that you don't have to set them up manually every time you re-start.
