Hi All,

I am having problems with downloading. I do not understand what's going on.
I clicked to the link I received, downloaded the installer and downloaded Aquarium. When I clicked 'install', nothing happened. I decided to download another file (games - don't remember which ones), but my connection failed. Now I do not find Aquarium on my computer anywhere but it is no longer on the list of downloads either. What can I do? All these downloads will take a whole night - or more.

Thanks for reading.

Best,

Jack

Search for directory \ChessOK Downloader\Downloads

You can try to start installing of the Chessok Downloader again. During the installation it shows, where the directory is.

When your download stops, there might be some timeout. Then try to log in again and the download will continue.

It finds nothing.
This download is never going to work - I do not even have broadband.
Parent - - By Svilponis (***) Date 2008-08-06 17:07
My computer has several hard disks, the chessok downloader installed himself by default on "D:\ChessOK Downloader"
This directory has subdirectory \Downloads where every single download is located in separate subdirectory.

I downloaded my most important staff at speed rate 6-21Kbps. This is slower than normal dialup connection. Although I have broadband, I'll wait for my DVD for bigger bases.

The downloads from aquariumchess.com (links in the email) should be quite fast, if you want some of the bigger bases.
Parent - By Svilponis (***) Date 2008-08-06 17:53
Thanks for suggestion, but I have no rush! I was anxious to get Deep Rybka 3 and Aquarium only as fast as possible. Now, that I already got those, I am totally calm and can wait some weeks for DVDs and let others to enjoy somewhat bigger bandwith. I know that some users ordered only download version.

When I downloaded Aquarium, it works 10 times faster via HTTP download link, which is mentioned in your download mail:

FOR HTTP DOWNLOAD:
1. Visit http://www.chessok.com/dlurl ...  .
2. Enter your Aquarium serial number. You'll get the download link to the setup program.
The HTTP download link is valid for a limited amount of time (1 day) and for ONLY TWO downloads!

Good luck!

This is just ridiculous. Every time I click on something, the downloader does not respond and I need to end the program.
At this point, it is making me nervous.
Parent - - By Axel Caro (**) Date 2008-08-06 17:17
Try it without the downloader, only with http download-link. Maybe you haven't registered to use the downloader? Or you did not enter your serial?
Parent - - By Jack-Ireland (**) Date 2008-08-06 17:37
Hi Axel, Many thanks. I downloaded from HTTP. It goes indeed much faster (something like 97 kBs compared to 9 kBs using the downloader).
I have it now. I am downloading the additionals, some of which are big.

Best regards,

Jack

My pleasure: have fun!

This means that the connection to the server is becoming very slow. I suggest everyone to switch to the HTTP download.

Excuse me for asking again, but, as said, I am downloading additional files now. However, they are going to be in WINRAR (zip). Would that be a problem to 'incorporate' them to Aquarium once I am done (if ever ;-))?

Sorry, but I do not know such things.

Best,

Jack

One you have downloaded the file via ChessOK Downloader, the process is simple: click 'Install', then 'Install', then wait until the installation finishes. In every step you should be patient, because ChessOK Downloader first downloads the installer, and then unzips the tree in the correct folder.

For CAP and HugeStatistics that's ALL! They start showing in your Aquarium's tree view.
For databases, you'll need to open them. They are saved to <Aquarium>\ABases\CABases\HugeBase and <Aquarium>\ABases\CABases\Corr

If you downloaded the zip files via HTTP link, you'll need to unzip them manually. Read the instructions at the end of your letter.

Hello all,

The download is not working for me and it says illegal serial when I have paid for it.

Can someone help me?

Kind Regards

Suj

Are you sure you are entering the correct serial number that you received today from Convekta? Without extra spaces and so on?

If yes, write to info@chessok.com. Or rather, PM me, including your serial. I'll check your data today or tomorrow.
Parent - - By Fulcrum2000 (****) Date 2008-08-06 18:14
At least you got your serial already... ;)

I'm not completely sure, but I think that the e-mail sending process already stopped for today. Our sales people don't like to over-exert themselves, and it's 22:16 here now.
The new round will start tomorrow morning, no earlier than in 11 hours.

Tell them to hire some extra people, or at least some motivated ones. You are also still working, why not them "non-techies"?!  ;)
Parent - - By Jack-Ireland (**) Date 2008-08-06 18:29
Hi,
Excuse me, but could you please comment on this - giving me step by step of what I need to do - my files will be in WinRAR.
I downloaded this program a while ago. It is not freeware, so I deleted it. But it still seems to be working ... !
Sorry, but my favourite technology is the telephone (not the mobile).

Best, Jack

Ensure Aquarium is not running

cap.zip - extract into <Aquarium>\ATrees, replace old files. <Aquarium> stands for your Aquarium installation directory. If you installed Aquarium to D:\Aquarium, the path is D:\Aquarium\ATrees.

hugebase, corr.zip - extract anywhere you like, open in Aquarium as a reference database.

d2m.zip - extract into <Aquarium>\ATrees\statistics, replace old files
Parent - By Zruty (*****) Date 2008-08-06 18:35
I think it's easier for you to download all the files via ChessOK Downloader. They will be installed automatically, so you don't need to extract any archives.

Also, if you purchased the DVD version, you'll get the DVD with all the additional components already installed.

I'm actually sitting at home because our office's Internet is down. But yes, I'm working.

>Tell them to hire some extra people, or at least some motivated ones.

The thing is, I'm the one who is told not the one who is doing the telling.

Help please! What size is the D Ryka3 and Aquarium download, I  bought the DVD version and have very limited bandwidth and am deciding if I'll wait for the DVD?

The download says 'unknown time left' when I started downloading.

Thanks.

48 MB for Deep Rybka 3 Aquarium.
Parent - - By Jack-Ireland (**) Date 2008-08-06 20:14
Hi Zruty,

Thanks for your answer, but using the downloader is not an option for me - it is going to go way too slow.
So, can you please give some precise instructions of what I need to do with the files once they are downloaded?
I know I need to unzip them. Then what?

Thank you. Best, Jack
Parent - - By Zruty (*****) Date 2008-08-06 20:22
Then you'll need to put them in the specific directories.
Let's assume you installed Aquarium to D:\Aquarium\
Let's also assume that Aquarium is not running during the process, because we are going to replace some files.

CAP.* should go to D:\Aquarium\ATrees. There are such files there, they must be replaced.
D2M.* should go to D:\Aquarium\ATrees\Statistics. There are such files there, they must be replaced.
cap_huge.* should go to D:\Aquarium\ATrees. Aquarium won't use this tree by default, you'll need to include in into a tree configuration. See Aquarium help for this matter.

The other files (HugeBase, Corr) are CDP databases. You may put them anywhere you like. To open them in Aquarium, click on the Open Reference Database button (On the very top, the blue one with a shield), and select the database.

Thank you Zruty, but one little thing I am asking myself, you speak about installing things in D. I did not do this, I installed in C (main hard disk). Why are you talking about D?

Best, Jack
Parent - By Vempele (Silver) Date 2008-08-07 13:12

> Why are you talking about D?

Search and replace all instances of D:\Aquarium\ with C:\Wherever\you\installed\Aquarium\ and his advice remains valid. It's just an example.
Parent - By Zruty (*****) Date 2008-08-07 13:18
I said:

>Let's assume you installed Aquarium to D:\Aquarium\

I said so to have the 'base' directory for my further explanations. If you installed Aquarium to another directory, the explanations remain valid if you replace 'D:\Aquarium' with your own Aquarium location.

Wich part you do not understand?

==========
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:

Ensure Aquarium is not running

cap.zip - extract into <Aquarium>\ATrees, replace old files. <Aquarium> stands for your Aquarium installation directory. If you installed Aquarium to D:\Aquarium, the path is D:\Aquarium\ATrees.

hugebase, corr.zip - extract anywhere you like, open in Aquarium as a reference database.

d2m.zip - extract into <Aquarium>\ATrees\statistics, replace old files

Hello Svilponis and All,

I didn't understand any part, but it speaks for itself once I tried doing it.
As Corr and Hugebase can be extracted anywhere, I choose desktop and now my desktop is full of icons. If I make a new folder and drag all the icons in it, nothing works anymore. I guess I cannot change the location like that. Can I extract Corr and Hugebase again and select another location (not desktop) this time or will this mess up things?

Best regards,

Jack

I think, it should be possible to remove a base and open it again from Aquarium. Try just open it again after you have moved the files into new location.
Parent - By Dadi Jonsson (Silver) Date 2008-08-07 07:59
It's probably simplest to extract the files into a better location.

Not really a Rybka question but a chess assistant one.

For chess assisant professional with deep Rybka 3  for download How do I get CAPS  Correpsondence  Huge Base and Huge Statistics inside the chess assistant 10 program? I dont understand what to do after I download these files.

Is it a copy and past procedure? Do I need to copy them to a CD first? Im new to chess assistant(which installed fine) and completely confused and how to get these files working with chess assisant 10. Please give very detailed instructions. Telling me to install something to any folder will confuse me. What folders? How exactly? etc.
