Whoaw... Thanks a lot for this!  What hardware are you using? I had some problems reading the cross table (maybe you can post it here), but I like your idea of live streaming chess matches like this.

Great work....

There is good amount of difference between 1st and second placed book but close fight among 2nd and 3rd but still believe that Iconoclast will hold its 2nd postion.
Parent - - By Uly (Gold) Date 2010-03-08 11:08
In the other thread was said that Attacker is on first because it's the best book at exploiting other books' weaknesses on ECO B90, while Iconoclast plays something else entirely.

So Attacker wouldn't be first if bookmakers were more original in their repertoires.
Parent - - By jeandis (***) Date 2010-03-08 11:35
what did you mean Vytron? I saw that attacker is out of ours books and well built. Is there something rare that I did not catch about this book? Saludos hermano
Parent - - By Uly (Gold) Date 2010-03-08 11:40
No, everything is quite normal, I'm just trying to echo Nelson's thoughts, that the great advantage this book has is due to super tuning into the variations that the other books are playing, e.g. a tiny slice of ECO.

Saludos.

Parent - - By Sunny (***) Date 2010-03-08 11:57
No se ofenda, pero lo que Ully está tratando de decir es que el libro se sintoniza muy específicas sobre la línea en particular. Es decir, Variaciones B90 línea separada no otros. N de las nuevas variaciones, como iconoclasta juegue.
Parent - - By jeandis (***) Date 2010-03-08 12:07
porque me ofenderia? al contrario tenemos que chequear mejor los conceptos y profundizar mas ciertas lineas eso el el progreso y la parte positiva
Parent - By Sunny (***) Date 2010-03-08 12:20
N U no ofendido. pero pensé que si estoy escribiendo algo mal por favor tome ningún delito. Que lo que es el significado de ninguna ofensa

Fellows, there is nothing wrong with specializing in in one ECO.  My approach is very narrow as well.  The difference is that in this tournament I consistently control which ECO will be played (Larsen with white and French if they play 1.e4), while most of Attacker's victims are voluntarily fighting on terrain Attacker has prepared with many land-mines.  This is a key difference.  Attacker's opponents are eager to play B90, and he is taking advantage of that predictable behavior.  Iconoclast, in contrast, is quickly taking the opposition into places they are not well-prepared to go.

If there was more opening diversity you would see a much different tournament outcome because all the very deep preparation in one ECO would never come into play and easy book wins of the sort Attacker is achieving would happen less often.  You should look at Attacker's games and notice how many of his wins are achieved by book-exits > +1.00.

Thanks Sedat!

I hope the earthquake didn't cause you any problems.. I see that you're OK, which is good. :)
Parent - - By Sedat Canbaz (*****) Date 2010-03-08 13:49
Thank you for your understanding Brandon...sad news, but i am ok and the earthquake was far from Antalya
And as far as i know approx.10 people are died

Btw,if the  monitor screen of the computer seems to be ok,that's mean i am alright :)

Best,
Sedat

Just because your monitor is working does not mean you are all right.  I must sadly remind you of a computer chess hobbyist who had left his computers playing games on Playchess while he meanwhile unexpectedly died in the hospital.  I have to admit, that's really a glorious way to leave the hobby, your grieving relatives finally turning off your computers after you have departed from this earth.  Soldiering on to the end, and even beyond the end!

Just because your monitor is working does not mean you are all right.
There is nothing impossible...but the story was going about the earthquake at 4 o'clock in Turkey and about me

Yes, but I think we understood. :) English can be a very nonsensical language at times.

Really? I thought everybody would mistake it for 3 thou =  76.2 μm. :)

Last time I tried to measure it was different. I forgot the exact measure ;)

Oh, fight back Iconoclast!
Parent - - By Nelson Hernandez (Gold) Date 2010-03-10 13:17
Nay, obviously some of these books have found weaknesses and are now hammering me with them.  Not much to be expected from here.  It was a noble try.

Yes.. book learning can be a fickle mistress..
