Hi all :-),
our rating lists are now online and can be found under the attached links.

40 / 20:
Today we added 1446 games made with 31 different engines to our list. See more in our list "Games of the week". In total our 40/20 list is based now on  385.444 games.

New engines:

We have started to test Scorpio 2.5 x64 1CPU.  The engine reached 2730 elos in 370 games: this is 60 points ahead of version 2.4 and too in front of best older version 2.1 - now Daniel is again on the right way.
The other new entries are private Fruit versions (we hope Ryan will continue developping this engine):

33 Fruit 090705 x64 4CPU 2985 +35 -35 217 games (+32 to Fruit 2.4)
71 Fruit 090705 x64 2CPU 2940 +18 -18 773 games (update +2)
110 Fruit 090705 w32 2CPU 2910 +34 -34 248 games (start rating)

Do you have Deep Fritz 12 to start testing yet?

It seems odd Chessbase aren't claiming a certain elo improvement.

Hi,Some are saying only a 20-30 elo improvement over deep fritz 11 if this is the case whats the problem?it will make Deep Fritz 12 close to Deep shredder 12.Dont forget you get a full years playchess.com account and a new Gui.I have Deep shredder 12 and will buy deep fritz 12 when out to have some fun matches with shredder.

The problem is you can get all those benefits by paying half as much and buying Fritz 12. Then you can download Stockfish for FREE and get a stronger engine than DF12. When Deep Shredder 12 was released Stockfish was not yet in its element so Shredder was a bit more viable. However, even Shredder was clearly overpriced IMO.

I don't think DS 12 was overpriced as I was paying for just more than the engine itself.  Stockfish is awesome but it can be limited in it's usefulness.  Even Larry Kaufman stated that he thought Stockfish wasn't always good for use in analysis.  (somewhere on this forum0

I love playing endgame positions against stockfish but DS 12 has great limit feature functions and I really like analyzing with it and Naum (and of course Rybka)

Right! You pay for the package and the bundle of Shredder + GUI + book is good value.

But you must agree that DF12 is overpriced.

Except you get a years worth of training videos etc.. with  server premium membership. I think all engines are under priced for the work that goes into them. You have the choice, to buy or not to buy that is the question :)

i noticed that, premium membership,if you use it good deal but not for me.

Indeed, what if you're only interested in the engine? They shouldn't charge you for all the other stuff you don't care about.
