I like.
+1
I can imagine it as a desktop shortcut, if you shrink the fish and rotate it to be horizontal.

Can you turn this into a poll?

Add gills and you're there.

That's not bad, it's in the simple style. I'd even just use a normal R.

I'll sort all of this out later ..

Thx; I need to admit that I am very bad in computer painting (or what it's called? I don't even know that  ). I did that in Windows Paint, with a little reworking in a pic viewer tool, only. It's just meant as an example, or idea which would require a good computer artist to create a professional version from.

Now I made another version, with a normal R and after taking the original orange color from Rybkachess.com.

(It is intended that Rybka points upwards. )

I like this approach too. Perhaps it doesn't want to be more polished.

Ok, thanks. That looks pretty decent. :) I'll decide later.

I like it a lot.  I don't think that there needs to be any type treatments either (get rid of the registered trademark use on the R).

Only improvement, maybe would be to put it on a white square.

This simplicity is much better than the previous more complicated versions posted here.  The only real concern is 32x32 bit version with the very small type.  It follows the "pro" aesthetic, the more pro, the more austere the logo.

Something like that was already tried:

Looks like a Christian chess program...but conflicting with the come-to-Jesus fish design is the brash "Soviet Agitation" font.
