I am trying to add a new thread to the Rybka forum, but I get this message:

"Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_add.pl on this server."

I did some tests with very short topic starters, and those I could "preview". But when I make my intended real new topic, I get the above message. It seems like there is some restriction to the length of my post, even though it is not very long. I also can't add my intended post to this sub-forum in its intended length.

OK, I located the problem, see this thread starter:

http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_show.pl?tid=1233

In the line "And then about the WCCC" -- when I add a ":" instead of a "." after that line, I can't post the thread starter. I changed to ".", then it worked. Weird.

I just got around to testing this myself and I get the same error message as you did. I'm amazed by this strange bug and even more amazed that you managed to find it (i.e. what was causing it)! I'll have a look.

After Sesse ran into the same problem I found out that any post that contains the string 'cc' followed by ':' (e.g. wccc or 0xcc followed by ':') causes an error. This is an Apache mod_security issue that is caused by overly strict (and in this case pointless) 'security' rules trying to filter email headers. This needs to be fixed by the hosting company and I have already reported the issue to them.
