sorry, the .pgn was wrong, the last move was 41.Rh5, so he didn't want to see the mate :)

best game by rybka so far. BTW, the time usage is far from being optimal. Rybka always has so much time left on the clock. This is a (not so good) rybka typical behavior, but it going a bit too far in these games. We wil see more sicilian openings in the remaining games.

It's hard to say--humans are far better ponderers than any computer program, and if the extra time to get the next ply on some moves is taken up by 2-3 extra ply for Benjamin, then it's not worth it if the ply is already quite high.

On the fixed 45 seconds per move time control, on some moves, Rybka refused to use more than 10 seconds, and even played some non-obvious moves instantly. But at the 45 fixed seconds per move it makes no sense to save time (You're always getting 45 seconds no matter what.)

Incorrect. You never know if your opponent is allowed to ponder.

So Rybka plays fast so the enemy has not enough time for pondering. That explains it, thanks.

Also, it only happened when Rybka was on won positions, so it may be some Rybka's strategy to give as few time as possible to the opponent to recover (But my impression of that game, was that Shredder drew that game, because Rybka missed a move, for playing too fast.)
