stupid question: when purchasing Rybka 3 can you choose which interface it comes with? Mine came with chess assitant 10, which I find to be overkill and impossible to understand or handle.

   Thanks

Yes... Rybka is available with the Chessbase interface or with it's own interface (Aquarium) or it can be purchase as the standalone engine to be used with other interfaces

it may be useful to note that only the Aquarium and Fritz 11 gui support the new Rybka 3 output like sampled search.

you could get either Aquarium ( a demonstration video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9-t5bPJuWc ; demo version: http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_show.pl?tid=5583 ) or Fritz 11 GUI which are easier to handle.

Fritz is said to be easier to use, but I myself prefer Aquarium, you have the choice :)

Convekta offers btw. Aquarium for ~10-20 Euro for those users who already purchased Rybka 3 with one of the other packages, you just have to contact their support info@chessok.com
