Hi,
I apologise if this has been addressed elsewhere, but a quick search can't find it.
I am using 2.3.1 in the engine room at playchess, accessed via the Fritz 9 entry page. I have been very happy with the results, having go to just over 2900 elo at one point.
The problem I am having now is that the engine seems to freeze sometimes, apparently while still in the book. This was happening 1 time in 20, but last night seemed to happen more frequently.
A few other said they had the same problem.
Can anyone tell me if this is the GUI, and if so, which is the better way to get access to the engine room there?
If it's not the GUI, can anyone offer an explanation or, even better, a cure ?
Thanks in anticipation...
Phil

Hi,
One fix that sometimes works, for uci engines, in GUI9 is this:
Go to c:\doccuments and settings\application data\chessprogram9 and delete all files ending in .cblay or .cbrecent - reboot and try again.
Application data is a hidden folder so you will need to enable view hidden folders. If you cant find the folder try searching for .cblay and .cbrecent
Hope that helps
Harvey

Thanks Harvey, I shall try that and report back...
