ChessBase is unusually generous in its compliments to Rybka. Is it likely that they are abandoning Fritz and will simply use Rybka?

I would think not, because Fritz is exclusive  to ChessBase, Rybka is not, and therefore Rybka can't be a flagship chess program for them - at least this is my thought about it.  Fritz is not a 'bad' engine, and is quite well in the engines ranking lists, and it has room fro improvement, as it has consistently shown.  I like Fritz personally, and if ChessBase abandoned it I would really feel, as an engine chess fan, that they are taking away from the sport as a whole just for money, which would be a serious sell-out.

Sure, but maybe if they strike a deal with Vas, they can do this. Rybka will be assimilated. Her technological and biological distinctiveness will be added to their own.

But why take away a good engine from the sport?

They will still use Deep Fritz 11.

This is how I see it.Chessbase stands to hold a one,two punch.Chessbase will have Rybka and they should develop Fritz into the number 2 engine in the world(they can do this with Vas's help). But I do hope that what is unique with Rybka remains with Rybka. With this one,two combination Chessbase will really be on top as far as customer base is concerned and prestige.I personally like Fritz and there was a time that all you could hear about is Fritz, especially with the Kramnik match.

or Vas and Fritz can exchange their ideas and come up with Fribka or Rybitz ! LOL A fish to a frog!

I can see it:

"With Rybka 4 you also get different Rybka versions that change the playing style, these are: Rybka Dynamic, Rybka Humanized and Rybka Fritz (A Rybka that plays in the style of now defunct engine Fritz!)" :)

Fribka or Rybitz? I prefer that Fritz and Rybka continue with the same name.

Despite knowing that hardly Rybka 3 will lose to a new version of another
"Top Program,"  I hope that the authors of Naum, Hiarcs, Zappa, Shredder, Sjeng,
Fritz, Glaurung, Togga, Movei (hello Uri!) and others, continue trying to improve
their engines. I will support these authors.

For now I'm thinking if I will buy Rybka 3 and Jeroen book in Chessbase, because I already
bought Rybka 3 + Aquarium with Convekta.

Exaggeration? I do not know, but I think this is a historical moment in Computer Chess.

Fritz is a magnificent engine and the deep fritz 11  better(best) even, fritz is like the equivalent one of the pentium of intel, is a modal in chess ....

Enantiodromia

It is similar to the principle of equilibrium in the natural world, in that any extreme is opposed by the system in order to restore balance. When things get to their extreme, they turn into their opposite.
