I got the distinct impression that Conveteka were developing a rival to Chessbase. A program that would be even better at handling the massive database of games.

but now...it seems they are sleeping?

Huh?

Chess Assistant 9 is already way superior to Chessbase.

ah. I didn't know this.
In what way(s) is it better than chessbase? I'm not a big fan of chessbase becuase I find its annotation restrictive and it crashes quite a lot.

How is chess assistant better??

Then Chess Assistant is not for you, being more restrictive than CB.

Hi

Please, dont say that.  Chessbase programs are really superior in all ways and also looks much more pretty.

Gambitto.

With regard to the looks: You're right.

"Superior"? You don't know much about how CA works, do you??!

I like them both, but if I want advanced things done - analycally, it's CA!

The outlook lies in the eye of the beholder. I just like it simple, so CA is right for me. And I agree with what you said about advanced analysis.
