I remember looking at some old threads and reading a reply by Vas, stating that Rybka was "Not Deterministic."

What does that mean?

Thanks

For the multiprocessor version it means you get different results even if all the conditions are exactly the same.
For the single-processor one - well, I recently explained it here.

Yes, this is right.

The non-determinism from multi-processing is much stronger, this is typically what I am referring to. Single-processor machines are on their way out - I'm not even sure if you can buy a new single-processor CPU today.

In Germany you can, too. Don't worry... ;-)

Wow, at last , after 1 and a half year, I got the half of the answer ! (Half, because this doesn't change things about single processor Rybka)
Now I just wonder how I missed this fact of Rybka that she is not deterministic. Maybe I must spend more time with her :)
This forum works, but sometimes late :)
