Pascal Georges has programmed some new features for Shane Hudson's SCID database program. Among other things this great piece of software now supports UCI engines, Polyglot opening book analysis and new traning features like databases with tactical exercises. There is more but you better take a look for yourselves:

CCC thread on the subject:

The program though still a beta version seems to be working fine, I just installed so beware I have not tested everything. There are really a lot of features in SCID. The only small thing I saw is that all .pgn files now suddenly have a SCID pictogram. But that is a small matter, otherwise the pgn files still open normally in other programs.

I also would like to thank Josef here for his Toga Viewer, see one of the earlier threads in this forum, there obviously went a lot of work in that program and it is really helpful in trying to understand how Toga's and Fruit's evaluation actually work, and what the C-programcode actually is doing on the chessboard, so it is also helping me in finally teaching myself some elementary C programming. Thanks a lot for this Josef!
