wow. take the first 6 moves out and this game was over in 24 moves, a GM as white and a pawn up, and yet there wern't any piece hanging blunders or falling into mate, this was certainly a positional win, and "she made it look simple". it's just amazing.
I have to agree with you that was a beautiful win.
anyone got insight into Dzindzi's reaction/thoughts so far?
He said that he played badly today and promised to "beat the **** out of it tomorrow" :).

This one was fast!
A pair of days ago Dzindzi was as solid as stone, but in today games there are a lot of inaccuracies.
Larry, is there a specific cause, or just a bad day?

The particular pawns missing today, the c- and d-pawns, open the way for tactical nuances for sure. It will be interesting to read Larry's comments, I think that Roman has a decent chance at winning with the f- and g-pawns gone. My prediction now is that out of the final four games, Roman will draw with the e-pawn gone, win one and draw one with the f- and g-pawns gone, and draw with the h-pawn gone. I also predict that one of my predictions is wrong (!) and that he will be a half-point worse than I think, thus causing Rybka to win the match 4.5-3.5.
> I also predict that one of my predictions is wrong (!)
You have mastered the subtle art of prediction.
Just a bad day, and perhaps bad opening choices.
>Larry, is there a specific cause, or just a bad day?
Since Rybka did not do so well in the frist two games, Larry obviously went out for a few drinks with Dzinzi the night before game three. It worked ;)
LOL :):):)
What is this stupid "31.Z0" move that is in all of your PGN that you post about this match?
My ChessPad viewer does not accept it. Does the game ends in 30th move made by black?

In the first transmission on Chessok, the beginning of the game was given like this: 1.Nc3 d6 2.Nf3 d5 3.Nxd5 Nf6 4.Nc3 Ng8 (keep in mind this position) 5.Ng1 Nf6 6.Nb1 Ng8 and after 7.Nf3 Nf6 8.Nc3 I was anxiously waiting for 8...Ng8 :).
We all saw it! Rybka in the engine box showed Ng8! with eval 0.00.
i saw this to and was hopen to see it played and resulting comments.
Fortunately, Rybka was still playing by the book :)
yes, the game ends at move 30, sorry for the Z0 ;)
Rybka has been different today from yesterday, far more forceful and powerful. Yesterday's changed?
Congratulations to the team Rybka.

Either Rybka was upgraded over the rest day or the GM just had a bad day...Rybka's play was not very impressive the first two games...Maybe the GM wants to make things interesting..Either way, something has changed.

I guess Vas tried something new with first day's version which didn't work out well, so he switched back to the latest tested version. :-)
No change in the program. The only change was that I covered the king's indian attack in the opening book, and Roman chose not to play it today.
The play of Rybka today did indeed seem a lot stronger compared to yesterday.Larry you say there were no changes made and how close is this version to 3.0?
In terms of evaluation, it is quite close to 3.0 (unless I discover some magic secret to making a big improvement overnight). In terms of search it's maybe only half way or so from 2.3.2 to 3.0, as Vas has not finished some major work there.

Wow, that's pleasing Larry. Nice to know real monster is still in the making. :-)
Yes indeed if that wasn't 3.0 playing we are in for a treat indeed!
I didn't like what Dzindzi chose today in the opening of game 4.
I wonder why he opted to play for a typical 'e4 position' - with 2. Nc3 and 3. e4 - and refused to play some solid and very well-known lines for him with 1. d4.
Regards,
Gaмßito.

because due to the missing d pawn, black can't playthe typical break d5.
But due to the missing d-pawn, black doesn't need to play the typical break d5 :-) I think that even though the "objective" evaluation of the positions are probably best for black with missing flank pawns, computers may be best against humans with the d-pawn missing because of the piece activity inherent in the positions.
