Hello,
In have installed the Gold Nalimov Tablebases from Convekta to work within Chess Assistant 20.
In the Engine options I set the tablebases path correctly and everything works fine under the tab EndGame TB (that is with 6 pieces no problem at all).
The strange thing is that when you set the option "Allow Usage of EndGame TB"within the parameters of an engine the Tablebases only work with 5 pieces instead of the 6 that I have installed.
It looks like the GUI of Chess Assistant only allows 5 pieces and when you set the path within an engine you get the possibility to use 6 pieces.
What I also mention is that you can set the Syzygy paths within the engines but they do not work.
What is the problem here? Is this a bug?

I only use the Nalimov Tablebases to view in Chess Assistant as indicated in this article:
https://www.chessok.com/files/BobPawlak/Articles/061_Tablebase_hidden_feat.html
I'll see about using them in an engine.
On the Syzygy tablebases you need to ensure that the Syzygy Probe Limit is set at 6 or 7. With most engines the Personalities button under Engine Setup doesn't allow you to set the Syzygy Probe Limit (or doesn't show the setting). The work around is to close CA and edit the engine7.ini file and set the Syzygy Probe Limit accordingly.

A lot of older engine designs are limited to 5 pieces while the 6-pieces was not as widely adopted due to the steep system requirements.
Nalimov EGTB are more useful for analysis in my experience. 5 pieces is enough to resolve the endgame fast in active play.
