Up Topic Rybka Support & Discussion / Aquarium / Game Analysis Not Working in Aquarium 2020?

When I first installed Aquarium 2020 under Windows 10 (8-core AMD Ryzen), I was able to do game analysis for a game without any problem. But this morning, I must have messed up my settings because when I run game analysis, it just insert some opening lines and ignores the rest of the game. This is happening for every game I analyze.  I have attached the screen capture of my game analysis settings. Does anyone have an idea of what happened? How can I get back to the default settings.

I re-installed Aquarium 2020 and did a game analysis using the same settings as in the screencapture above. It worked successfully with annotations being inserted in the right places. But when I transferred my old c:\Aquarium\Data over my new one, game analysis reverted to the problem I described above. Only opening annotations, none for the rest of the game. Some of the config files may have been changed/corrupted?

I don't know.  I never do this.  But in the screenshot you showed it says you have Maximum Variation Length set to 12.  Looks kind of short to me.  But I don't do this type of analysis, so I am just guessing in the dark.

The setting of 12 is the default. The reason I don't set it higher is because I don't trust long variations. The longer the variation the more suspect are the end plies. It only bloats the analysis.

Finally, I have solved the problem of malfunctioning game analysis. I discovered that my C:\Aquarium 2020\Data\ATrees\GameAnalysis\ directory had corrupted files. See attached directory. I deleted the whole directory C:\Aquarium 2020\Data\ATrees\GameAnalysis\ and run game analysis. Aquarium rewrote the directory with its working files and presto the game analysis is now working as before!

I have a value of "300" for the option "Do not analyze when score is above". I guess, it was the default value, because I donĀ“t use the game analysis feature. Maybe your high value corrupts the feature?!

I also tried 300 with the same results.
