The Fritz GUI

As for the first question I'm not sure, I haven't seen that before and there isn't a manual online that I can see. I looked at the Fritz 15 manual but that didn't have it. If I had to guess I'd guess that it's the 'trending upwards/downwards' indicator. Fritz used to have a function where it would color the engine text red if the PV was trending downwards, and up if it was trending upwards. I haven't seen it in a while though. Perhaps this has been brought back and replaced with ++ and --.
It's basically saying "I found a sudden vein of lesser or greater evals, will check them out and when I have a better idea what's going on the ++ and -- will disappear."

In the second question I'm pretty sure it's just analyzing that particular move, but hasn't found it better than its current PV so this PV remains the same. In the third image if the answer to the first question I gave is correct, it's feeling more certain about about the evaluation of that particular line so the ++ disappeared.

I'm just guessing here. But it may just be the move is relative to positional considerations? If you are to compare one move against that of perhaps another being considered? If I read this correctly, Fritz is still searching deeper into this particular position and ++ may be relative to the best current move found at the present depth of search? But I know nothing of "Fat Fritz" so there you have it! My guess!

I want to be clear between numerical evaluation - pawn values, and perhaps what I'm alluding to above -positional evaluation!
