In another thread I noticed a pic with the analysis from two engines in IdEA.  I cannot find those columns in the IdEa setting for AQ14.  Is this possible in the 2014 version or do I need to upgrade?  If it is possible, how?

Thank you

In any version, go to the TREE menu tab with a game open, select Idea tree on the far left, then click options just beside.
This will allow you to edit the columns in the Idea can add different columns for each engine you wish.
Make sure you have set up in the engine parameters the name of a tree for that engine.

Oh so I would have to have separate trees for each engine?  eg.  Modern - Komodo, Modern - Stockfish...

Yes, you can have as many columns as you wish, and your screen is big enough to display :-)
I have a different column per main engine type, so I can see the comparison.
Remember, the Idea engine will update the Idea column, the infinite analysis engines will update the other engine columns.
If I recall, to get different Idea engines requires running different Idea processes, then merging the Idea trees into different columns, but an expert will know better than I.

The tree configurations are extremely versatile, and are one of the reasons Aquarium is so valuable to me.
I make AQT trees out of selected portions of the database and add them as columns to my tree configurations. (e.g. only games where both players are rated over 2500)
You can add infinite analysis from different engines, or even whole IDEA trees from other projects, which can be useful when there are transpositions between openings.

The picture in the thread below shows a simple example, where the columns from left to right show the IDEA evaluation, number of downstream positions, IA evaluation, number of games in my White 2500+ database that white won, and total number of games in my white 2500+ database. I also color the moves themselves to store my repertoire (green), mark an opponent move I have some analysis for (blue), something I will never play (red), and a plausible alternative (orange). It is also possible to annotate the tree itself, as shown in the pink box up top, and I mostly use this to reference pages in my paper books.;hl=tree%20configuration
