My testing of the early 2000s engine demonstrate that in terms of material value and positional strength the strongest engine positionally is.....

Shredder.

Not Hiarcs, not Rybka, not Zappa, not Fritz. And it's not really close either. Hiarcs is vastly overrated in this regard.

I feel Shredder is somehow overlooked. If it does lose it is almost never due to unsound positional play. Not even against modern day Stockfish 10.

Did you guys remember this as well? Most people talked about the endgame never  it's all-round positional play.
