At present EGTB are being distributed as is with no error recovery outside the torrent capabilities. Torrents are secure with several checks to be sure the files are intact.

Over time however storage units can become faulty. Disks today have error recovery but with the spare blocks run out the disk can show bad sectors.

Bad sectors are known and all file systems can cope with them

I am aware of a solution using Reed Solomon codes that can make recovery files that can reconstruct the original set should it become damaged. PAR files can reconstruct a set of files and I was considering making a set so that anyone who has disk errors can recover more quickly than downloading the parts over again.

QuickPar was long ago abandoned but the website is still up. It can also handle MD5 files to check file integrity. Works fine with Windows 10 as a 32-bit program.
