Houdini Tactical (HT) is obviously much better for solving tactical challenges but is weaker than the normal Houdini in tournaments because
HT wastes too much time on moves that are unlikely better than the first choices and therefore does not reach the same depths in the same time.
What about in correspondence chess - time is not such a limiting factor there. Is it better to use Houdini Tactical and let run longer but making
sure not to miss something? Maybe use the new Houdini "Partial Tactical" with e.g. 2 out 4 threads being tactical (this is what I use currently).
Anyone opinions?
