Hi all,

Inspired by Kotronias on the King's Indian, volume 3, Mar del Plata I, I have made a testsuite with 50 critical positions in this line. Although the lines are long (sometimes even over 20 moves), most pieces are still on the board and thus they should lead to interesting, enterprising and complicated play.

Enjoy testing!

Well done, Venator.
I like Mar del Plata, engines are clueless (mostly).
Main idea of both sides to win are sacrifice pieces for a pawn storm formation.

Thanks :-).

I hope a few "big hardware" people are going to use it to play some LTC matches between the top engines.

I suspect that black might do badly in blitz games, but in LTC many of these positions should be OK for black.

I updated the Mar del Plata testsuite after the Komodo vs Stockfish match (see http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_show.pl?tid=32184). Some less interesting lines were replaced by more exciting ones. Also I have added some improvements by Kotronias, from his book "Kotronias on the King's Indian, volume 5".

Hi all,

My second King's Indian Mar del Plata testsuite is available, based on "Kotronias on the King's Indian, volume 3".

The set has a focus on the 9.b4 Bayonet attack and the 9.Nd2 line.
