Dear all,

I run stockfish on a linux server as described here:

https://jerrygreenblog.wordpress.com/2016/08/26/linux-stockfish-chess-engine-as-remote-service/

I am able to access the engine with Droidfish on my Android-Smartphone and it works perfectly fine. That shows me that my setup on the linux server side should be correct.

With Aquarium (running on Windows 7), I can't access the engine. The events in the engine statistics menu shows that Aquarium is unable to connect with the engine.

Here is my configuration:
Type: Remote UCI
Tree Name: Remote Stockfish Linux
Name: Remote Stockfish Linux

Setup:
Server: [The IP-address of my server]
Port: [The port which I configured for Stockfish on my server]

User/Password:
Here I tried several combinations: Leaving it both blank, using my server username and password, using only the username without password.

Engine statistics:
Engine holder starting
Connecting to: [IP & port of my server]
Unable to connect. Reconnecting: 1
Engine holder in error state
Disconnected
Engine holder idle

Do you have any advice?

Kind regards

Checks

You might need to use plink and InBetween (see link bellow) and choose InBetween.exe as your engine. So, basically command line from Example 2 from your link above combined with InBetween.

Take a look at Jesse Gersenson's post: http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_show.pl?pid=568025
