Hey! does anyone know what would be the best specs for a computer to have to have awesome computer chess analysis?

I would like to do 2 projects:
1. analyze games
2. create an opening book

I know when creating an opening book it might take some hours for me to analyze my favorite opening so I might need a good fan, anyhow these are the things I was looking into. Would greatly appreciate feedback.

Please provide a budget range, otherwise one could suggest a million dollar supercomputer :-)

I personally have about 1000 to 2000 to spend on a computer right now. a pc workstation... would this be sufficient to compete in engine competitions and things of that nature or accomplish the tasks as mentioned by the original poster? I have used laptops and they seem to be clumbsy from time to time.

thank you for helping with this.

To charlesgalofre and Remember: in that price range go for i7-5820k and build something around that, you'll be fine in engine competitions. You will of course need to have a decent book, I leave this to find out for yourself, otherwise what's the fun.
