There are a lot of interesting ideas that have yet to be played in this move order and one of my friends had a minor brilliancy here and the line I will be playing is a favorite of GM Robin van Kampen who has a nice series on chess24 on the KID.  may have mentioned that i beat my first GM two weeks ago in a standard game, glorious time in chess for me.  i contributed a bit to the correspondence refutation part of Smerdon's book which recently came out, btw - a very detailed book on the 2...Nf6 Scandinavian, and actually there was some good discussion on the line in my Scandi game v Jitan (I had black there).  and also had a fluid win in the USCL, http://uschessleague.com/games2015/obrienshlionsky15.html so things have gone pretty well chess-wise for me recently.  i had some nice looking results and games at the Million Chess Open too where I went 3/7 (5/9 including forfeit wins), except in those occasional moments where I went crazy against Burnett, Yaacov, etc. in nice positions IDK if any of them were published anywhere.

Anyway, good luck to you, and I think there's a good chance of this turning out to be an exciting game, as it's nearly always the case with the KID.

10.0-0

some family and school stuff, and now preparing for NCC tomorrow a bit, Kamsky is my most likely first round pairing (I'm seeded 6th of only 10 players in the 2-day v about 50 more in the 3 day).  will make more moves in earnest after the weekend.

played Kamsky on Saturday in the following position:

8/8/p2r1k2/R2P1p1p/3K3P/8/8/8 w - - 0 48

I played Kc5?? and after Ke5 I resigned in a few moves.  We were both in time trouble and I had not registered that he played Kf6 as his past few moves were waiting moves and I was executing my plan.  After Ra1, and only then Kc5, it should be a draw but I prefer White...

I want to play 11...h6, but my XfccPlay for some reason does not open any more. I have an antivirus and I have done malware scan and restarted my computer, but to no avail. Every time I click on the icon a new process starts in the task manager and it is even impossible to stop them there.
Parent - - By Dadi Jonsson (Silver) [is] Date 2015-12-04 13:30
Something must have changed on your computer. Try to deactivate your antivirus software while starting XfccPlay.

not sure if my 13th move was the most accurate; then again I don't have ideas for what's better, but it's a nice position.  8...Re8 was an improvement on everything that I had on the position.

up to 2266 USCF atm, here is a fragment from my first GM win.  my openings could be quite a bit better, but grinding my way to higher ratings.

There seems to be another problem, namely I cannot see my game with Schachmatt in the Xfccplay any more. Looks like a problem with connection or the server.
Parent - By Dadi Jonsson (Silver) [is] Date 2015-12-16 07:46
I'll have a look at this today.
Parent - - By Dadi Jonsson (Silver) [is] Date 2015-12-16 18:13
Everything seems to be back to normal now.
Parent - - By deka (****) [ee] Date 2015-12-16 22:55
Thanks! What exactly was the problem?
Parent - By Dadi Jonsson (Silver) [is] Date 2015-12-17 17:53
I'm not sure what it was. I couldn't fix it so one of the ChessOK guys took care of it for me.
- By Garvin Gray (****) Date 2015-12-18 23:42
I do think some of these issues are coming from that this game had to be specially created later on and is not being relayed directly to the forum, as per normal.

deka defended very well.  seems i have nothing here, will offer a draw on my next move.

probably playing for a3-b4 was more correct.  well defended.
Parent - By deka (****) [ee] Date 2016-01-03 15:36
Thanks for the game! Like you said, in the early phase you had a nice position with spatial advantage, but your pieces were a bit uncoordinated and not very optimally placed for kingside attack, so it enabled me enough time to regroup my pieces and try to gain initiative on the queenside.

If this game is concluded, can someone post the final position, the full pgn and the result please so I can close out the tournament.
