Dear chess friends!

I have made a new ChessBase ctg-book for engine-engine testing: ShortLines.ctg. It is available from Ed's website, including a description:

http://www.top-5000.nl/shortlines.htm

You can download the book using the 'Download' link on the left.

Enjoy!

Kind regards, Jeroen

PS  The book will also be made available on the Rybka website soon.

You're welcome!

One important note: if you are going to use ShortLines.ctg for engine-engine testing, make sure that both engines use it.

Using ShortLines against other books isn't very useful and will most likely lead to the book playing unintended variations.

Basically I made the book to have more short lines available, thus it is a kind of 'big short lines testsuite'.

I always do this, so no problem.

Hi Jeroen, I completed a 200 game match using the fixed lines last month but forgot to post you the completed set that may be of interest to you. Because of the time to complete I ran this on my older overclocked quad with just 2 cores each, ponder on but changed from my normal time control to 15 minutes plus 10s per move. Ply depths looked reasonable. 39.5% of games ended in positive result.
