I use microwine version 0.5, I use the command

./microwine Rybkav2.3.2a.mp.x64.exe

with Linux Ubuntu  7.10 64 bit, processor Q6600, 2GB RAM, Fritz 8.

then after loading the UCI: Engine->Create Engine UCI and selecting the Rybkav2.3.2a.mp.x64.exe, a messagebox 'Bad EXE format for' with the button 'OK' appears and the engine is not loaded. I'd appreciate a help with this problem, thank you in advance!

How do you use the command when installing the engine under Fritz 8?

I copied microwine and Rybka into directory Engines in Fritz 8. Then I set into that directory and there I run Terminal and in it I have written the command

./microwine Rybkav2.3.2a.mp.x64.exe

(In the System monitor I see four sleeping microwine's now ...)

Then I start Fritz 8 and from it's menu I select Engines->Create UCI Engine and in the dialog  select the Rybkav2.3.2a.mp.x64.exe in the Fritz' 8 Engines directory. After it appears the error messagebox as described.

It doesn't work that way -- the fact that you've got microwine running doesn't help Fritz any.

What you probably want to do is make a launcher script. Search this forum for "microwine" to find an example -- it's untested, though.

The procedure with a launcher script using hint from this forum http://rybkaforum.net/cgi-bin/rybkaforum/topic_show.pl?pid=20426;hl=chmod#pid20426 didn't work correctly with Fritz GUI: The UCI began to load Rybka, but only three microwines were loaded and Fritz finished the procedure without loading Rybka UCI engine at last. If anybody was successful with Fritz GUI and Rybka mp on 64 bit, I'd appreciate your help, thank you in advance!

I tried several atempts to use Rybka2.3.2.mp.x64.exe with Fritz 8 GUI, Linux Ubuntu  7.10 64 bit, processor Q6600 using microwine, nothing was working. I mean that Fritz 8 GUI is not possible to bring to work on Linux 64 bit with 64 bit multiprocessor Rybka. What chess GUI do you others use on Linux 64bit with Rybka and microwine?
