Lets make a deep look into the coffee mug:
How would Kramnik (or Anand) play against the today-Rybka, having normal fair tounament-conditions?
Let's assume an 8-games-match.

I know, its very doubtful, very unsure, shurely not sincere.
But I have no Idea, how the chances could be.
So I'm interested: what are your presumptions.

What a result would you expect?

2-6, or maybe 2.5-5.5

I say 2.5-5.5 with one win for Anand and 1.5-6.5 (three draws) for Kramnik.  I'll average these and say 2-6.

+1 Anand has a slightly better chance than Kramnik, honestly i haven't heard Kramnik's chess software tackling skills as much as Anand's. But both would loose with a narrow margin. If we have a long gap between matches, like say 1 match per day or two probably Anand might win with a very narrow margin.

I think that even if it was only one game per week, Anand would still lose because there would be several games where Anand loses and has absolutely no clue what went wrong--that's what I would expect between a human player of his level and computer experience against a beast such as Rybka on a fast quad.

We have an idea, what much Rybka would be weaker, if she has to work on a Pentium-III with 1 GHz, if she has to play against another Engine.
But how big could be the outcome difference, if she has to play against humans?
Perhaps the differnce might be smaller.

I assume, it is not really neccessary to have a 'fast quad'.

Even on a Pentium III 1 GHz, Rybka's elo will still be near 2900.
