With 4 and a half days remaining till entries close, currently entries for both events are not at sufficient levels to hold either competition. So we need more entries. It is as simple as that.

In my discussions with Jitan regarding events from 2014, I can confirm that he will not be competing in the 2015 event, if that makes any difference to anyone else entry participation.

It would be a shame to see this event die I hope more players come forward so bring a friend............

Harvey and Aser have completed xfccplay game testing. Joes has not even started downloading the program and most likely will not be included in the event, if it starts.

Private messages have been sent to all those who have not replied on here stating their intentions about whether they are competing or not. Awaiting replies.

Nelson has been sent a pm a day or so ago and told the starting date for the events and that his participation is certainly wanted and welcome.

As I said in my PM to you, Garvin, there's just no way.  I'm crushed with chess and non-chess stuff at the moment, including a job-change and imminent move to Texas that will leave me totally out of the loop right around the time the tournament launches, with weeks after that where I'll be playing catch-up.  It's just a no-can-do.

Thanks for the invite, though, and hopefully next time I will be more able to participate.

Not used to playing this many games at once RR bit of an education.

Ditto, especially with other CC games also in progress

With this length of time control and number of games, it is a bit like doing a clock simul. Working out which games are important and require moves to be made now, and which games can wait. Also deciding if some games can be gotten rid of early, so you can concentrate on the others that might have better prospects.

It certainly would have been even more of an education had we gotten the 20 entries that I thought we would have gotten. Then it would be 38 games starting all at once for everyone.

Remember, the time control is 40 moves in 120 days, followed by 40 days no increment.

Start time for second round of main event will be announced when confirmed from Dadi.

How are the bets, that the secondary Event will finish with only draws? :)
Parent - By donkasand (***) Date 2015-03-16 23:00
I would not bet on that
Parent - By Schachmatt (****) Date 2015-03-17 06:04
i would not be surprised if i achieve the most wins and the most losses.

Don't bet on that. I will lose at least one game against Mr Williamson, probably both of them. He is out of my league.

Don't say that. I just placed a $A100 on betfair on 110 draws for this competition :P

Has Neel Basant played a move any Round Robin game since he timed out his main event game? I sent him a private message asking him to explain what has occurred for not reply, so still trying to chase the matter up.
Parent - By bio (***) Date 2015-04-25 08:04
His last move in our 2 games was on March 31.

Just to let everyone know. I might be offline for a couple of days at least and unable to update anything. I have informed Dadi of this as well, hence why the pairings are being posted immediately, rather than after confirmation from Dadi. If anything needs to change regarding the start time, Dadi will let everyone know.

I will catch everything up when I am back online. If there are any technical issues, please refer them straight to Dadi as private messages to me will go unanswered until I return. In regards to results update, perhaps Dadi could be kind enough to keep this up to date and I will update the cross table when I am back online.

Hopefully everything runs smooth in the meantime.

Pairings, start time etc have been sent to Dadi. Now awaiting confirmation that everything is ok and then information will be published on here.
- By Garvin Gray (****) Date 2015-11-09 22:26
With Uly's removal from the tournament after his flagging in his last two round robin games, I have changed the pairing to Matt O'Brien v Erik Varend. Unfortunately this pairing can not be sent to the server, so the game can not be shown on here. I do apologise. But it is still be played on xfccplay.

When the result is known, I will publish it.
