Hi folks,

http://chessok.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7_43&products_id=665 says: »I've been looking at the new CAP analysis that comes with Aquarium 2015...One of the new features of the Aquarium 2015 CAP database is the analysis of the first twenty-five moves of all high-rated correspondence games from the ICCF game archive....«

As far as I can see the provided CAP-file is from 2012. Am I missing something?

Ciao

I asked chessok. Waiting for an answer.

I can't see anything newer on the cap front.

By the way, is the latest database you've got included the Elite 2008 one?

I haven't installed the update (*.exe) yet, just downloaded the files. The d2m is from october 2014, the hugebase seems to be the new one. But as I said, the CAP files are old though they announced new ones in the shop.

"Cap indeed the same as previous version.
In cap tree we don't add new positions from 2012 year

In aquarium 2015 new D2m tree

6.2 Mio games  it is Hugebase + Corr database
*****************

look on this page:

•  Huge Base - a database with 5,720,000 games (updated on October 15, 2015)
•  Correspondence Database 2012 - a database with 595 000+ top Correspondence chess games, including games finished in 2012

But there is some misleading advertisement on their homepage. Here you can read:

"I've been looking at the CAP analysis that comes with Aquarium 2015. (...)  One of the features of the Aquarium 2015 CAP database is the analysis of the first twenty-five moves of all high-rated correspondence games from the ICCF game archive. Therefore, it is worth keeping an eye on the CAP scores while browsing the games.

Naturally, a high rated correspondence player can't rely entirely on CAP evaluations when selecting moves. Move selection in correspondence games requires much deeper analysis. However, a key factor in modern correspondence chess is to find positions that are initially evaluated favorably by chess engines, but can be shown to be dangerous after deep and careful analysis. CAP can be helpful in picking out such positions. "
Alexander wrote in an E-Mail:
"I am already asked to fix description.

we update with each new version Hugebase and D2m tree (direct) tree.

Cap tree we didn't updated from 2012 year.

And CAp tree - it is not usual database, which one may open with base\open.. command

You may see moves from tree (with evaluations) in special tab in aquarium

I am very angry because Cap updated and made by new strong engines was one of the main reason i bought AQ2105 and so, i lost my money !

No, still the old October 2012 version.

> What is d2m?

It's a Hugebase tree (updated).
