Has anyone heard of their IQS ? I know Bobby Fischer had an IQ of 160 +. Magnus has to have a high IQ and/or photographic memory, as he has played 10 boards BLINDFOLDED !

Kasparov has said that his IQ is "only" 135, though I don't think that many of us believe that.

Fischer's "IQ" was simply estimated by one of his teachers to be over 180, though it wouldn't completely surprise me if this was true.

What evidence is there that Fischer was smart in any area other than chess?

Kasparov is a very impressive guy in many areas. I'm sure his IQ is well above 135. But I'm sure his statement was faux modesty!

According to Bobby himself, "I'm not a genius who play chess, I'm a chess player who happens to be a genius. I can do several things well, other then play chess." from Bobby Fischer and me, DVD.
Kasparovs IQ has to be more then 135, just look at the way he analyzes in his videos.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SMe-hvCwTRo  Check it out !!!!!!!!!!!! He's playing Karpov.

There would be a lot more geniuses if this were based on ones self opinion... I'm pretty sure that on this basis, Bob would have an IQ higher than Gauss!

Not much. I listened to all his interviews and although he made some interesting points he was remarkably lacking in nuance and even quite dim on some topics.
The Jews are not responsible for every evil act in the world; taking down the WTC was not a good thing; hardly any chess games are pre-arranged in full with staged blunders etc etc.

I disagree with this last point.  Obviously the Kasparov-Karpov matches were not prearranged in full (neither side would have accepted such an arrangement--they practically hated each other at the time), but we have enough "defectors" from the time to practically assure us that quite a number of the Soviet vs. Soviet games in the most important tournaments and matches of the 1950s/1960s were probably prearranged.

Plus Nigel Short said that he had been approached before for pre-arrangement deals, but never took them. He also said that some of the names would shock the chess world. I don't know how credible that is, but w/e.

Assuming the pre-arrangement deals were draws, is there that much difference between them and a game that goes 1.a4 a5 2.h4 h5 draw agreed? Short draws aren't rare when the tournament has already been decided...

Fischer gained rating quickly as a kid because he did nothing else but study chess, he knew the positions because he studied for 10-12 hours a day. You would become a master in short order too if you studied anything for that length of time a day. I mean the guy read and memorized MCO for goodness sakes, but then I think he had a touch of Aspergers too LOL!

So did Einstein...

Einstein was marked as an underachiever as a kid. Funny huh?

Maybe, just maybe Bobby was right about pre-arrangement, I don't know.
He did have his own clock, and Fischer random chess.
