Of course.

If you already are happy, that means you no longer need more money, health nor love (Because you probably already have them) ;)

Happiness is overrated - it can't buy you money. :-P

[I forget who was to first to invert thusly. Historically, the ancient philosophers nominated many variegated things as the greatest personal good, but mere happiness was not oft-proposed, at least not without a fuller description of what this meant. For instance: Epicurus, mind pleasure; Aristippus, body pleasure; Callipho and Dinomachus, virtue (though this was united with pleasure still); Diodorus, pain privation; Hieronymus (of Rhodes), pain absence; Herillus, knowledge; the Cynics, agreeable living (to nature); Aristotle, integrity and virtue; the Stoics (derived from Zeno with Cynic influence), following virtue (as opposed to Plato, for whom knowledge of virtue could be sufficient). The closest to "happiness" might be the Peripatetics. Of course, the above is simply my rendition of schools/goods, and other catalogues might redirect the focus].

Yes, that's the normal statement, but then (probably) some 20th century pundit/comedian decided he could siphon some mileage out of reversing it. Not that I necessarily agree...

First, you have to define what do you mean with "Buying money" (Since you use money to buy things, not the other way around.)

If you meant "obtain money", as in going to work and getting money due to salary, then happiness may actually buy you money (If you are grumpy all day, you're probably going to get fired.)
Parent - - By Vempele (Silver) Date 2007-12-28 19:42
Getting fired for grumpiness would in turn get you lots of money in court. :)
Parent - By Uly (Gold) Date 2007-12-28 19:51
Ah, so I can say:

Grumpiness is underrated - it can buy you money.

Merry Christmas Silvian!  Don't forget to eat some Zappa cookies for Christmas!

Zappa Christmas Cookies

One 11.5 oz package Zappa morsels, divided use
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
One 6 oz package Ocean Spray Craisins Cherry Flavor Dried Cranberries
1 cup pecans or walnuts, coarsely chopped

   1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
   2. Pour 3/4 cup Zappa morsels into an uncovered large microwave-safe bowl. Set remaining Zappa morsels aside. Microwave morsels for 2 minutes on high. Stir until chocolate is smooth.
   3. Stir in brown sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla. Add flour and baking powder, mixing until thoroughly combined. Stir in remaining Zappa morsels, cherry flavor sweetened dried cranberries and pecans.
   4. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes or until cookies are puffed and set to the touch. For a firmer cookie bake for 14 minutes. Cool on cookie sheet for 2 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely.

Makes about 30 cookies
