we will add a new clumn and a new row.
and of course a new piece.

and computer will have to solve this new problem.  :)

I think that once we have enough power to solve chess, the power will be enough to solve all of its variants eventually.

A good solution is to add luck into the game, if my knight taking your pawn depends on a dice roll, then the outcome is unpredictable and unsolvable.

Chess puzzles are already solved but we still enjoy solving them.. Therefore nothing can stop us from playing chess may it be solved or not.    Infact I enjoy more analyzing the solved ones rather than the unsolved because i'm excited to compare my analysis to the solution afterwards.

If I construe the precision of "unsolvable" properly, this is not exactly the case. One can still derive an "optimal" strategy in the presence of luck. [One could also argue that it would not be "unpredictable" at least in the sense that one could still give a probability distribution of results, which should be observed in the long run].

Maybe we should enter a kind of "Prisoner Dilemma" into the mix. Then if both players use the optimal strategy, both players lose. How would we enter such a thing into the game remains to be seen.

When that happens everyone living and dead who has ever worked on computer chess will finally be able to rest.

Since they can't memorize the 32men tablebases, I wonder if they'll actually go and play chess by themselves.
