Maybe we should just start posting pictures of cooked Hiarcs, to balance things...
Parent - - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2007-12-16 17:59 Edited 2007-12-16 18:09
Felix should post those ;-) maybe we can do a combined Cook Book. Fish For Christmas. Heat In The Rybka Cooks Sushi

If you Google Cooked Hiarcs you just get a load of links to the Hiarcs forum and my Recipes sadly none for cooked Hiarcs but I would welcome any recipes and pictures and I will not be in the slightest hurt or offended.

We have a problem, Rybka is a fish, but what's a Hiarcs?
Parent - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) Date 2007-12-17 17:03
You'll see... :-)
Parent - - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) Date 2007-12-17 17:18
Look here for a wonderful Hiarcs recipe :-).
Parent - - By Uly (Gold) Date 2007-12-17 17:46
Mmmh...

Sounds tastier than Rybka, and easier to eat ;)
Parent - - By Banned for Life (Gold) Date 2007-12-17 17:54
Only if you like eating brain...
Parent - - By Uly (Gold) Date 2007-12-17 18:16
If it tastes like brain then I must withdraw and eat a fish instead (this is understandable even from a Rybka fan.)
Parent - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2007-12-17 18:26 Edited 2007-12-17 18:32
If you want to try I have prepared this one:

But I have to agree a nicely prepared Rybka tastes and looks much better:

Receipt post!
No, brain has a very delicate taste (fried with butter), I can swear it.
Definitely its colestherol content is quite high, but, once a time, it 's a pleasure!
Parent - - By Banned for Life (Gold) Date 2007-12-17 21:07
Have you been eating human brain? If so, is this an acceptable practice in Italy? :-)

Alan
Parent - By noctiferus (***) Date 2007-12-17 22:11
NO, only somebody's ears or noses, when we are quite angry with him :)

Speaking seriously, calfs, steers, goats' brains..
mainly in the northern part of italy
Parent - - By Uly (Gold) Date 2007-12-17 22:27
Actually, I think that Hiarcs would count as computer brain, with chips.
Parent - - By Banned for Life (Gold) Date 2007-12-17 22:30
Fair enough. In that case we need two platters:

1) Fish and chips, and
2) Chips and chips.

I'm sure the fish and chips will still be much more appetizing.

Ok, I have an alternative to Turbo's Hiarcs Burger:

Hiarcs' Chips Pumpkin Cookies

1 (15 ounce) can prepared pumpkin
2 large eggs
3/4 cup vegetable oil
2 cups granulated sugar
2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ginger
4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet Hiarcs chips
1 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

1. Mix the pumpkin, eggs, oil, sugar and spices together until well blended.
2. In another bowl, mix the flour and leavenings together.  Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix.
3. Fold in the Hiarcs pieces and nuts.
4. Drop spoonfuls on well-greased baking sheets.  Bake for eleven minutes our until the edges just begin to brown.  Remove the cookies immediately and cool on wire racks.

Eating Hiarcs must be sweet :)

Let's all visit the Hiarcs forum to post nasty disrespectful jokes about Hiarcs and see how they respond to that.
Parent - - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2007-12-16 18:10
You don't get it - please show me 1 nasty disrespectful joke I have posted on the Rybka forum?

Contrast this with the real News and information i bring here!?
Parent - - By dareapa (**) Date 2007-12-16 18:19
What one person views as a funny joke, might offend others thats all i'm saying... Fried fish may not be something a rybka fan in a rybka forum may want to see....I think it's  unfair to keep putting what good u do as a reason to do and say what u like on a forum like this.. Respect for others brings respect from others..And what dont I get that u get so much of?
Parent - - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2007-12-16 18:23 Edited 2007-12-16 18:25

keep doing - have i done that before? If you have no sence of humour you should not be here.
Parent - - By dareapa (**) Date 2007-12-16 18:32
I have to have a sense of humor to be here?? I don't remember that being a requirement from Vas or Felix.  Yes, I stand corrected.  Maybe I read what good u do from others.. I should have said that u shouldn't do that?? But I'm sure ur intelligent enough to know what I meant..If not, oh well...
Let's get along and talk about what's important about computer chess.
Parent - - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2007-12-16 18:36
Please post the requirements from Felix and Vas i have never seen those either and I am still waiting for you also to post an eg. of a nasty disrespectful joke.
Parent - - By dareapa (**) Date 2007-12-16 18:55
Just ur dead fish pics could be direspectful to some..Just a cool joke for others..It seems I offended u by just mentioning the possibility that u may have offended someone..So I can't say that was ur sole intentions..to offend...but Why can't u just agree that it's possible that ur  fish jokes could offend a rybka fan.
Parent - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2007-12-16 18:58
Is Rybka a cult?
Parent - By Banned for Life (Gold) Date 2007-12-16 19:12
You're joking, right? If vegetarians are offended, OK. If chess engine people are offended, there are more deranged people here than Anthony imagined...

> What one person views as a funny joke, might offend others thats all i'm saying

Huh...

If Rybka was a person I would be offended for sure, but Rybka is just a computer/engine/machine. Rybka has no feelings, and Rybka doesn't care about what other say about her.

Being offended by Harvey's posts with fish recipes is the same as being offended by people posting photos of a destroyed robot (If you knew the robot and it is replaceable.)
Parent - - By dareapa (**) Date 2007-12-16 18:50
Well , that's what I mean you see no harm in it and that's cool..But Felix said it hurt his feelings..different strokes for different folks..A Rybka fan is just that..a rybka fan.. I did not say that rybka felt offended.  People give inanimate things a life of their own all the time..this is why we respect her as a chess entity and refer to her as a "she".  I can't explain the dynamics of being a fan. Being a fan of something always stir emotions in humans.

Please visit my new restaurant - after a night of Fish eating we have a couch and a therapist available,
Parent - - By dareapa (**) Date 2007-12-16 19:14
Hi, Harvey

san francisco bay area is my neck of the woods, nice shot of the carquinez strait..
Parent - - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2007-12-16 19:29
I know it well my Sister lived in Foster city for 2 years and i visited several times.
Parent - By dareapa (**) Date 2007-12-16 19:56
Thats cool Harvey...I live like 3 miles from the dead fish right on the other side of the bridge.....
Parent - - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) Date 2007-12-16 19:51
I think if any Rybka fans are truly offended by pictures of fried fish, then they need a bit of insensitivity training and have obviously grown up in an environment that is nothing close to an approximation of the real world.  Laugh at the dead fish!  Laugh at Harvey for eating it when it's undercooked, as he usually does!  (That's why Hiarcs finishes behind Rybka in tournaments.)  Get over it!
Parent - - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2007-12-16 19:54
FYI - the Fish was Grilled! Must have been overcooked yesterday as we finished ahead of Rybka but damn it tasted good :)
Parent - - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) Date 2007-12-16 19:57
I think that you'll find that you'll have to be satisfied with eating your fish raw in Paderborn :-)
Parent - - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2007-12-16 20:04
Sushi - fab I have some great Recipe's. I was thinking of a replacement poll to my deleted one that was actually about Computer Chess. something like:

How do you like your Rybka?

1. Fried
2. Grilled
3. Poached,
4. Baked
5. Suishi
6.I don't like Fish.
7. Tandoori
8. Smoked
Parent - - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) Date 2007-12-16 20:11
"Yuri Osipov" and his fans will obviously choose "3. Poached".
Parent - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2007-12-16 20:11
lol!!
Parent - - By Harvey Williamson (*****) Date 2007-12-16 20:24 Edited 2007-12-16 20:46
At the risk of being Felixed here is a link to a poll that I am very happy for Turbo to run on the Hiarcs forum ;-) http://www.hiarcs.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=721

Maybe this Poll will encourage Robert to make his 1st post over there he sounds like a guy that can cook.

Parent - - By dareapa (**) Date 2007-12-16 20:00
well put :).....Me and Harvey just chatting no harm intended...He has a loved one that lives in my neck of the woods..That makes him qualify as a friend..:) :)
Parent - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) Date 2007-12-16 20:04
Yes, that should be interesting--I'm sure if you two meet, you can post some good pictures of the menu at "The Dead Fish", as well as the main courses :-).

Actually, this is kind of reminding me of those Bugs Bunny cartoons where Elmer Fudd is hunting both Bugs and Daffy, and they each take out cookbooks such as "1000 Ways to Cook a Rabbit" and "1000 Ways to Cook a Duck" and start reading out recipes.

I pressed the report button, wrote a complaint, opened the forum again, saw my complain and removed your poll. is that ok?

Have you qualified that as racism ? :-)

Felix, I really hope that your feelings aren't truly hurt by pictures of dead fish on the Rybka forum!
Parent - - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) Date 2007-12-17 17:19
Felix, you also should enjoy this :-)
Parent - - By Felix Kling (Gold) Date 2007-12-17 19:02
:)

Btw., I really don't eat any fish ^^
Parent - - By Roland Rösler (****) Date 2007-12-17 20:07
And I´m sure, you don´t like lobster, oysters and whales (no fishes at all). Poor guy. Philistine :-)!
Last remark: Hitler was vegetarian!
Parent - - By Felix Kling (Gold) Date 2007-12-17 20:39
Hey, I'm neither Hitler nor a vegetarian :)
Parent - - By Roland Rösler (****) Date 2007-12-17 22:21
I´m sure about it. But I´m sure you don´t eat  lobster, oysters and whales and other animals which live in water (sea or river). I know it, because my brother is from the same league. When he was trying lobster he said to me, it smells like fish (he never eats fish before).
The (true!) remark about Hitler was from the comedians Alich and Pause from Bonn. I like it very much, because the vegetarians always feel as better humans.
PS: Felix: You have to suffer now! It´s because of the Harvey case. You are guilty! The punishment is a short blame on you (with a poll?). You will withstand :-)!
Parent - - By Banned for Life (Gold) Date 2007-12-17 22:27
Nah, we should force feed him 37 cans of tuna in one sitting so that he can be the new fish eating world record holder!
Parent - By Roland Rösler (****) Date 2007-12-17 23:17
Alan the Barbarian :-)!
Parent - - By turbojuice1122 (Gold) Date 2007-12-16 19:55
Actually, I quite enjoyed the poll: just out of curiosity, what were the final results?
