I believe that it's better that the new Rybka 3 can count their nodes in the known conventional mode.
The faster updating of search info also should be fixed as soon as possible and I think that Vas it is very aware of this.
Although, make a stronger Rybka it is the principal thing here and it should be this way always. I think that Vas knows that an improvement of +50 points in the new Rybka version can be possible, but I think that still is too soon to speak about this. Perhaps Vasik can tell us a little more about this.

I think that the node count in Rybka is specially designed to measure the effective speed improvement of increasing cores and going from 32bit to 64bit. If Rybka counts twice the nodes but only 50% of the new searched nodes are useful, then it will display a 1.5 improvement (Instead of the conventional 2.0) accordingly.

I think that it's already on latest Private Beta, that Rybka sends info to the gui every 6 seconds or so, so you know that Rybka is still working.
Of course it's important to implement this in Rybka 3; that it should be made, should be made.
As far as I know I thought because Rybka has implemented lot of chess knowledge the Node speed is really low.
Other engines have more knowledge than Rybka and are even faster. However, nobody can assure how counts nodes each programmer.
But Rybka counts nodes too different to most.
1.File size of EXE or the engine file.
2.The related node speed.
