I have just acquired a new PC with an Octo Xeon CPU. Looking at CPU usage, I see that it is indeed 100% w/ Deep Shredder, but only 13% with Rybka when in infinite analysis (using Shredder GUI). Does that mean that Rybka 2.3.2 just does not use any of the multi-processing capability?

Check the engine options... maybe "MaxCPUs" is configured wrongly?

(I have the single version only)

The multiprocessor version (Rybkav2.3.2a.mp.x64(or .w32).exe) uses all cores (up to 2048 :)) by default. If you bought the single version, you can upgrade it here. If you bought the multiprocessor version but received the single one, mail info@chessok.com

!3% is ok look in TM again you will see 8 Rybkas running at 13% each.

The options, however, aren't. There's no Max CPUs so it has to be sp.

yes you are right. So on an 8 core machine it would show 1 Rybka at 13%.

If you just have the sp version you can purchase an update to the mp versione here: http://store.convekta.com/shop_model.asp?gid=122&sView=Catalog (scroll down, it's at the bottom of the page)
