If you have a refutation, please share it with me as long as it's not applicable to this game, as I was intending learning the Benkö instead of the QGA that I have played in my last tournament.

The point of a4 is to make use of the extra pawn as quickly as possible. The knight is heading for b5 where it blocks the b-file. If white can play b3 without taking too much damage he will simply be a clear pawn up.

I don't know what happened but I never got alerted by the forum software that you had moved. Strange, I just went to the game out of curiosity and saw it that way.
