Hello,

Deep Rybka 4.1 sometimes outputs a 'square' character after some moves like 47. c4 dxc4 shown in the image below. I wonder if that is a 'garbage' character which cannot be displayed in Fritz 13 interface?

Just curious: I noticed that Deep Rybka 4.1 starts multiple processes for parallel search. May I ask if these processes can communicate via network on different machines? Thanks.

Kind regards,

not, that is a notation for analisis, and means a forced move

if you take a look to,for example, encyclopedia of endgames (the yugoslaw),you will see all that symbols, and their meaning

Hello,

Thanks for your reply.

I see now that its NAG value is $7 and its meaning 'forced move (all others lose quickly) or only move'. That is great! I know that Fritz interface can insert these glyphs when annotating a game using a chess engine.

you are wellcome

but there are too much less symbols that are used,at for example, the endgame encyclopaedia (yugoslaw),if you are interested,i sugest that you take a look to that book

This may turn out false after further analysis, where you'll see the square disappear.

But it should be noted that R4 and R4.1 are far more reliable when it comes to [] moves than it was the case with R3.
