Hello :)

I am pleased to announce that my new beta opening book (Perfect X b2.ctg) performs very well against top freeware and comercial books.

I think that another thing you have shown here is that Zappa performs relatively better with that opening book than with any other opening book.  Of course, the time control is blitz at 4'+2", and I and others have encountered scenarios where an opening book that is better at blitz might be worse at long time controls.  However, one could probably be fairly confident that one of those top five opening books is also the best at long time controls.

Canbaz has useful books and does not need to make such a completely nonsensical "book tournament" to prove something.

Actually, I think this tournament provides quite a bit of useful information--it gives a good indication of which are the best books for engine blitz chess.  These are the new Perfect book, RybkaII, and Sheebar.

No!
Very doubtful, everything can be only random.Such tests are not reliable. The past has proven.

"Everything can only be random", but "the past has proven"?  Hahaha, very funny! :-)

I will agree with you if the new Perfect X b2.ctg beta will become a private or commercial one,
only then there will be a such thoughts that this testing maybe is doubtful !

But i plan to release that book for free to public.

There are still some weak lines which are waiting for optimizing,
but i think the book will be ready up to end of this year.

And then there will be possibility to see its reliable or not...

BTW,just a little note:
''The past has proven'' but its not including me !

And last,there is one true:
- from the past up to now i've run more than 500.000 games which are all reliable !!!

Best Regards,
Sedat Canbaz

Thanks for the kind words...

But i dont need (with that book tournament) to prove that my books are useful,
its enough for me that the members of CEGT,CCRL ... are using my perfect books since many years.

My main goal is to see the influence of the books and now its more clear that the engines depending of which book are using show us can gain/loose 50 up to 100 elo points.

The idea of a creating a new book was born, just when i saw Zappa is loosing badly against well optimized Rybka books.

At least for sure with that book, Zappa is loosing rarely against Rybka.

Best,
Sedat
