Making a new post, rather than reply, for each white move is ok with me.

I'm fine with either one, I just think we need to use "Post" every once in a while so the indent doesn't eat us all but otherwise "Reply" is fine the rest of the time.

22 days to get to a point where it would usually take 0.22 seconds for an EvE match :p

Haha! I really didn't like where this game was going, and wanted to find something better, looking for even the most weird looking moves, but alas, I had to go back to this move. Took me way too long to see my dislike of 4. e3.
Parent - - By Weirwindle (***) [us] Date 2012-08-28 22:44 Edited 2012-08-28 22:55
It is very easy to get dragged through transpositions back into the usual slav openings.
I keep my books at 0% usage for 4. e3 to allow for the extra varieties through 4. Nc3
Just like I always use 3... c6 rather than e6 to keep white variety low.
3... c6 4. Nc3 or e3 or cxd5
vs
3... e6 4. Nc3 or g3 or e3 or Bg5 or cxd5

4. e3 feels just like jumping into the Colle system at 3. e3 with disregard for other
openings when you could hold off the choice until later.

But I may be a little hypocritical here now that you have tons of upcoming choices.
Parent - By Uly (Gold) [mx] Date 2012-08-28 23:06
No, that sounds about right, I had a plan, but it didn't work, there's only so much depth one can reach in these games, and I don't like other book moves.

I have about 200 games left from my book going into this line.
It is sad that only about 20 of them are LTC.
What do you think, Nelson, about our last couple moves?
Parent - - By Nelson Hernandez (Gold) [us] Date 2012-09-04 02:31
You're obviously an avid Playchess collector.

I'm showing 50% with 63.1% draws.  Bet you have something pretty close to that.  We ought to talk about integrating your games to my database!  If you're close to 200 you may have one of the best databases around.
Parent - - By Weirwindle (***) [us] Date 2012-09-04 03:50
That draw % will change greatly depending on what he does next.

The only other move I checked seriously was Bg5, and black could easily neutralize it.
Parent - - By Weirwindle (***) [us] Date 2012-09-12 00:08
We will have to go through it later and see, as I would have chosen it as white.
Parent - - By Uly (Gold) [mx] Date 2012-09-12 05:14
Sure, we have a pending game with reversed colors, we can make it, me as black on 11.Bg5, and you show me what you got.

I will answer this in a few days.
I just need time to think this over and be sure.

What? Lol, my move was supposed to be on that post.

Of course, I believed that I had already posted it when I made that post, and have been wating for your move since then, for what other reason would I make such a post, reposting the position and bolding your move? I thought you were taking your time to move.

Under those circumstances, my move would have never come, until you made me aware that it didn't appear in my last post. I even checked this thread several times that I had made the last move in this thread (but didn't notice my post with the move didn't have it.)

My mistake. I'm still going to say that since then, I haven't done any analysis of this game, I was just one move short when copying the line, and copied the FEN automatically.
