I only have an i5 dual core (2x2.67ghz) laptop but I'm interested in how much faster people's machines go than mine.

What sort of kn/s do your machines get on Houdini 1.5a, 64 bit?

With 2 threads I get around 3150 kn/s (enough for a patzer to analyse his games with)

What about you?

tigershark, use this position. run it in your Houdini program for about 5 minutes and then post the output.
Then maybe some others will do the same and compare kns as you asked.

There are already overclockable E5 motherboards, but CPUs prevent overclocking.
