Hi all,

1650 games are finished. I put a preliminary result on http://www.inwoba.de

Bye
Ingo

PS: Sorry for not transmitting, but that is difficult with CB native engines.

Umh! Fritz 13, must be a Crafty clone...with a touch of Crafty/Fruit additive.

Thanks for the results.

Based on your list, Deep Fritz 13 1CPU is only 3-4 Elo points stronger than Fritz 13. This means there are not improvement at all over Fritz 13.

Regards,
Gaмßito.

Edit: Ok, still I see there are missing games. We'll see what happens.

Gambito,if you  run a ''deep'' engine only in 1 core(same engine, same version),is supossed to have the same strength than the ''single'' core engine, because you run the MP version in just 1 core, and you dont take advantage of the MP implementation

Yes you are right.

I though that Deep Fritz 13 in one core, was a slighty different/improved version of Fritz 13.

Gaмßito

That was the case until F/DF12 but apperantly it is different with F/DF13. On the other had it is now what all others "Deep" engines already are ...

Additionaly my set of games is missing all the "weaker" engines in my usuall test setup right now, while Fritz 13 played against them. We have to wait until the complete run is finished.

Ingo

Full run with 2850 games finished. It can be found at http://www.inwoba.de

Deep Fritz 13 increased its rating significantly over the 1650 games result. It show quite nice that it is not good to publish results of a small sub group!

The IPON-RRRL will be updated later today.

Bye
Ingo

Wow! That's a really good result for DF13. Maybe CB will return to the chess engine tournament circuit...

What's up with Hiarcs, anyway?  300 points down in ELO, but #1 in sponsoring prosecutions of other programmers and at the rate things are going ICGA world champion over and over again?  That's quite a remarkable achievement!

But don't you guys see that Deep fritz 13 is really the same streight as Fritz 13? Even if Ingo has one core it's dual core which means it uses more than fritz 13 is able to.

All single core computers are dual nowdays so we can never get exactly the same conditions for both programs.

What I saw in a forum:

4x Intel Core i7 CPU X980 (24x4600 MHz) 64GB RAM :
Time 120'+60'+60' . Ponder off . GUI Deep Fritz 13 . Hash 16GB. Nalimov 7 men Lomonosov TB's. Book: HS-7moves.ctg:

Deep Fritz 13 - Houdini 2.0c x64 24 threads :
59/100 - 41/100 . 59%-41% . ( +25 - 7 = 68 )

Deep Fritz 13 is the strongest engine of all on my hardware.

It is using 4 cpu and long time. Someone should do the similar test to see if it happens again.

Well I'm using a 12 core and Houdini walks all over Deep fritz 13.
Parent - - By siah (***) Date 2012-06-12 13:44
By how much time?
Parent - - By Carl Bicknell (*****) Date 2012-06-12 14:09
fast time controls

I think you deserve an insult.

Fritz can't (and perhaps never will) access Lomonosov tablebases. You are easily fooled, siah.

When was deep Frtiz released?    Is it physically possible to get through all the games in this time on one machine?

Of course multiple might have been used.    Or it might be a joke.

Your time controlls are very slow siah but still suprises me it scores that well. All fritz version from 11 are basically believed to be tactically weaker rehashes of rybka 2.32.

Of course being newer it reaches  higher depth faster but it's still inferior tactically for some reason.
Parent - - By Hurnavich (Bronze) Date 2012-06-13 08:32
Hi,
Is there evidence of a rehash?
Parent - - By rocket (****) Date 2012-06-13 12:23 Edited 2012-06-13 12:27
ponderhits are through the roof. They will play indentical moves most of the time.

28  Rybka 2.3.2a 64-bit – Fritz 11    68.3  2268

Fritz 13 is still the same engine but improved of course.

Perhaps this is the real reason why Fritz stopped playing in ICGA tournaments.
Parent - By rocket (****) Date 2012-06-13 13:12
Yes and it was the same time when Vas joined chessbase(what a coincidence!) so why would they bother with their own engine anymore?
